4 bottles to be exact . .

I was commissioned by a savvy, young couple interested in something with a ton of texture expressed through variant shades of grey, cream, carbon and purple.

They both happened to be wearing sweaters of the same deep shade of purple at the time of my initial house call . .

Something I noted for when it came time to conceive just exactly “how” I was going to achieve the appropriate shade of purple.

It needed to feel organic in order to mesh with the moody and organic base texture I had been building up.

The answer was obvious: wine . .

Never reattempted nor duplicated, “Monkey’s On A Vine” is the product of a “stone soup” scenario.

I was scant in terms of materials, but itching to create something avant-garde nevertheless.

Each section in this triptych is a different size, which alone makes it very unique.

However, the framing is really what sets it apart from other three-piece depictions:

3 pieces of panel board unified by a hand-crafted Red Mahogany wooden frame that adds a contemporary type of dimensionality to the piece, while making it easier to hang at the same time.

AVAILABLE - $800

Bearing the closest resemblance to the American Flag, this piece actually wasn’t designed deliberately to do so.

Aside from scrap metal, my other aesthetic inkling is incorporating right angles somewhere into the composition of certain pieces.

Mainly, their function is one of aesthetic misdirection . .

Essentially, by adding this single set of lines across a particular region of the canvas I am not only increasing the dimensionality of the image as a whole with yet another layer, but also (in doing so) allowing very focused areas to propagate a sense of animation through subtle contrast.

Creating custom work for clients is an exciting process for me . .

Whether on location firing ideas back & forth until we come up with the perfect concept or simply tailoring a compilation of characteristics from my former works, the greatest part about the experience is working together to fabricate something as one-of-a-kind as possible, specific to the space.

My turn-around time is approximately one month . .

I welcome custom projects of all sizes & scope:

Beach House.

Office.

Boutique Shop.

Lobby.

Restaurant.

Med-Spa.

Salon.

Night Club.

Corporate Headquarters.

I’ve recently finished some of my pieces with traditional picture frames as an experimental departure from my staple method of handmade framing.

A juxtaposed assembly for my usual audience, though, now suitable towards those with a more conservative sense of style.

Pieces like these can offer a highly effective boost for smaller walls.

There have been many different prototypes along the way, but this version “wears the saddle” in my opinion.

Each card is handmade through a seven-step process, beginning with simple, ordinary paper.

People’s first reaction is usually a cocktail of baffled-appreciation similar to having just witnessed a really good magic trick (testament to the ideology of “less is more”), which is why I continue to labor in small batches with something that could easily just be mass produced . .

But, that’s not the point.. I believe in making every card unique, as if it carries with it the potential to say, “I care this much about what I do” and “welcome to my world” at the same time. That’s the point . .

“Dino” is by far the most metal-centric piece I’ve ever created.

In fact, the overall expression & character of it is almost entirely reliant on the crystalline patina of the rusty shard and how starkly it contrasts the whimsically drifting composition it rests upon.

Metal that interesting takes months to find . .
